A London taxi driver asked me what the big event was this week. I simply answered “IE week”, assuming with his knowledge this would be a known acronym. Just to add to the confusion, I added “ it is a few days of meetings and parties, id est, Sunday to Wednesday, not actually a week”

i.e., Latin … id est … “That is”.

This got me thinking, what does IE week mean to those who attend? I started a list: Intelligent Entrepreneurs; Important Executives; Impressive Entertainment; Information Editing; Invitational Events; Ignoring Emails; Instant Education; Ironing Evening-wear and surely, “I’m Eating!”

As we return now to our places of work and shuffle through the business cards, reflecting on the discussions and potential new opportunities, it is also time to say words of thanks. On behalf the MFA, I have to thank those who provided opportunity to meet and engage with me and our members. We thank Awyr Las Ltd for sponsoring the meeting room and helping to host a very engaging credit management meeting. Thanks to the long list of companies who offered party invites, provided breakfasts, lunches and dinners. There is a tremendous amount of planning and pressure to make these days flow as intended. We must always acknowledge those who make it work. Thanks to the dancer at the Bunker Partner party whose endless energy and quality moves entertained the guests and gave us all ideas for next year’s outfit to wear in London!

This week was truly International and a huge amount of Energy was needed to get through it. There is positive energy flowing within the MFA and we are developing as a truly International alliance thanks to the engagement with so many new individuals and companies across the supply-chain.
